Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles We have a new and exciting role for a Purchaser to join the Purchasing team.
Based at ourHead Office in Milton Keynes and reporting to the Head of Purchasing you will be required to work closely with the business to help develop and improve on the current supplier base. This will involve improving their level of commercial compliance, negotiating commercial terms of business, running tenders whilst helping Scania achieve it’s Purchasing Market Plan objectives.

Purchaser Responsibilities:
* Run competitive tenders with new or existing suppliers and negotiate commercial terms of business.
* Help Scania achieve the Purchasing Market Plan objectives
* Develop strong working relationships with internal customers in order to make them understand the benefits of working with the Purchasing Department.
* Ensure that all procurement is done in accordance with company policy and process and only engage commercially strong and reputable suppliers who adhere to Scania’s Code of Conduct
* Maintain and develop the supplier base so it meets the needs of the business and follows the central strategies set out for each procurement area.
* Work closely with the business to create future objectives for the Purchasing Market Plan – and then achieve them.
Key requirements for the role:

Education and/or Experience
* Purchasing experience essential
* Educated to a high standard
* Working within a corporate structure
* An understanding of Scania and its UK network
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* A high level of analytical, innovation & business skills
* Contract writing
* Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* An ability to analyse large amounts of data
* Integrity
* Project management experience
* Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad
