Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based at the heart of British motorsports racing in Northamptonshire, are actively seeking a Project Engineer within their Vehicle Dynamics & Chassis department to deliver vehicle dynamics targets on a range of performance vehicles from the initial concept stage through to mass production platforms. This will involve vehicle dynamics target setting and development to deliver world class leading steering, handling and ride comfort performance.
On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable (albeit dependent on relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full flexible benefits package, to include a discount lease car options and bonus.
Key responsibilities will include:
Target setting and support for chassis and vehicle design activities
Subjective and objective benchmarking
Suspension technology selection
Vehicle dynamics development planning
Testing and component development cost tracking
Development of chassis systems, including (but not limited) to:
Tyres
EPAS
ARBs and eARC
Springs
Air suspension levelling and rate switching
Damper HW and SW
Bushes
Suspension Kinematics
Differentials
Use of objective data, CAE data and simulators to support decision making
Testing and subjective assessment of vehicle dynamics and performance in a range of different environments including:
Public Roads
Proving Grounds (Hot and Cold Weather)
Race Circuits
Off-Road
Delivery of test results and feedback to internal departments and external suppliers
Write engineering development and sign off reports
Supplier liaison and developmentQualification & Experience:
The successful candidate will need a proven track record in vehicle dynamics testing and development delivery
A complete understanding of vehicle dynamics and suspension design theory
Excellent interpretation skills regarding kinematic and compliance measurement data
Ability to roll out dynamic and limit handling assessments at proving grounds and race circuits in high performance vehicles
Prior experience using Vector CANape control system calibration tools
Strong data analysis competencies within specific software tools
