This is a high-precision, low volume manufacturing environment. They bucked the trend in 2020 with record orders and growth, and they are recognised as one of the most innovative and technically advanced manufacturers globally, with 4 offices around the world. Due to this growth, they are now looking to add to their team with a Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer.

The Role: Procurement Officer

Overall, the role is to ensure the timely availability of good quality parts in accordance with the production schedule. You will be working with others to constantly develop the supply base in order to reduce costs and to place new work based on NPI and other projects activities. Responsibilities include:

Supervision of procurement with responsibility for objective setting and performance.
Working closely with the Production Manager to ensure that orders are progressed with maximum efficiency and in line with customer requirements.
Overall responsibility for supplier performance and development.
Cost control and reduction management.
Inventory level planning and control
The Candidate: Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Previous experience in a similar role with a manufacturing environment;
Able to negotiate and manage supplier performance;
Previous ERP experience;
Capable of improving supply chain processes.
Ideally CIPS qualified, though this isn’t essential.
To be commutable to the office you could live in or near one of the following locations: Woburn, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Leighton Buzzard, Newport Pagnell, Olney, Bedford, Northampton, Aylesbury
