Salary: £28,000 – £37,500 per annum (DOE)
Monday – Friday
Alternate weeks of:
8:30am – 6pm
8am – 5:30pm
Alternate Saturdays 8:30 – 1pm
Our client is currently looking to recruit a Motor Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester to join their team in Buckinghamshire.
The role involves:
• Completing services, repairs and maintenance compliant to manufacturer standards.
• Resolving defects and replacing broken or malfunctioning parts
• Inspecting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical and management components to identify issues and failures accurately, using software based diagnostic equipment and technical data and literature
• You will communicate directly with the company’s third-party technical support teams as required
• Ensuring all MOT’s are completed to DVSA standards and that you remain up to date with all training and legislative requirements
• Creating customer information videos, clearly explaining the general condition of the vehicle and highlighting particular work that is to be completed or has an advisory
• Road testing vehicles to ensure the vehicle is in perfect working order and that all warning and service lights are reset as necessary
• Completing all necessary check sheets and paperwork, etc and ensuring the vehicle is passed back to service with all work completed and advisories documented
• Caring for and safely storing stock and consumable items
• Making sure company equipment and tools are kept in good condition and securely stored
• All documentation and checklists must be followed accurately and completed in accordance with our procedures
• Providing excellent customer service and having 100% accountability for the quality of work completed on each vehicle when it is assigned to you.
The successful candidate:
• Ideally, you will have at least 5 years high end experience and be qualified to at least City & Guilds or NVQ level III motor vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications
• Will hold a Full, Clean UK Driving Licence with the right to work and live in the UK. This is essential
• Will have the capability and willingness to solve problems, have good all-round communication skills, be a great team player and have the ability to understand and work with detailed information
• Will have knowledge of using garage management and other relevant software to manage each job you are allocated and recording service and maintenance check sheets and advisory future works as necessary
• Will hold experience of working to the highest possible safety standards at all times and bringing to the attention of the workshop manager any and all possible risks that you feel require assessment
• Will be computer literate.
