iSeries Developer
Reports To: Application Support Manager
Hours of Work: 08:45 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
Scania GB is one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join the team based at our Head Office in Milton Keynes.
As an iSeries Developer, you will be responsible for development and maintenance of software applications critical to the back office operations of Scania (GB) Ltd. The iSeries Developer is essential to ensuring the success of the Scania team in their support of both internal and external clients. You will be part of the Application Support Team comprised of both employee and contract staff, and will also partner with project leaders, business stakeholders and managers in accomplishing projects as well as support BAU.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
The iSeries Developer is expected to be proficient in SDLC methodologies and adhere to established CVS standards & guidelines. As iSeries Developer, you will be providing solutions to technical and functional requirements, estimations with little or no variance, system design, problem resolutions and guidance to other team members and support operations.

Candidate Requirements
Analytical mindset with ability to investigate and issues and implement resolution
Solid Experience of IBM iSeries – AS/400
Solid experience of all aspects of RPG programming (RPG III RPG IV RPGLE-FreeFormat (10 years +)
SQL & iSeries QUERY
CL programming
FTP scripting
SDLC experience
Database Design & Development
Desirable Knowledge
Experience with Agile
Experience within automotive and or logistics in particular heavy vehicles and trucks
SSH & SFTP
Knowledge of IASP on the IBM I
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Experience of handling XML interfaces via RPG
Warehouse & Warranty systems knowledge
Document Management software for the IBM I (e.g. Compleo Interform400)
