HGV Technician Supervisor

Location: Buckinghamshire

Salary: £40,000 – £46,000 (DOE)

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5 hours per week)

Shift: DAY SHIFT

My client, a successful and progressive Commercial Vehicle Workshop is looking to employ an experienced and skilled HGV Technician Supervisor / HGV Mechanic Foreman / HGV Chargehand / LGV Technician Supervisor / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor due to expansion of their workload.

Duties of the HGV Technician Supervisor / HGV Mechanic Foreman / HGV Chargehand / LGV Technician Supervisor / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor:

Supervise a team of technicians ensuring that work is carried out as efficiently as possible
Agree resource plans with Company Directors (and actions to handle peaks in workload) and anticipate resourcing issues in advance
Ensure technicians are fully briefed on job requirements and budgets per up-front job specifications
Check that all work is supported by formal customer authorisation prior to starting
Be responsible for the Workshop environment, special tools & equipment used during the shift & report any deficiencies
Requirements of HGV Technician Supervisor / HGV Mechanic Foreman / HGV Chargehand / LGV Technician Supervisor / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor:

An understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations
Warranty & Contract scope & procedures
Knowledge of workshop KPI's
Technical product knowledge
Good knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual
Significant experience of working as a technician within the HGV repair industry
City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent in HGV Vehicle Technology
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
To be able to manage and motivate a team of technicians in their daily activities
