A large multinational corporation with the European head office based in the UK is seeking to recruit an experienced Engineering Development Manager to join their team within the Milton Keynes area. 

Although part of a large corporation the successful Engineering Development Manager will work as an integral part of a small team supplying a selection of demanding automotive businesses. 
 

The Engineering Development Manager role: 

– Working on an extremely varied range of Automotive products you will manage and oversee the development activities of all products within the European region.

– Understand and manage development priorities to ensure prudent team decisions and progress report to both customers and internally

– Liaise closely with customers and manufacturing (not on site) to manage development issues to ensure satisfactory product delivery.

– Manage project and part costings and in turn negotiate with costs and lead times with suppliers.

– Actively participate in the approval of new suppliers and improvement activities within existing.

– Effectively communicate with International head office Engineering Team and management.  

 
The Engineering Development Manager Candidate: 

– The Engineering Development Manager will be happy to actively run and coordinate new product introduction and contribute to the process, this is not just a Management role where you facilitate others but one where you participate and lead from the front, guiding when required.

– Knowledge of Designing for injection moulding processes is essential to be considered for this role.  You should have strong experience of delivering injection moulded products through from initial brief to production sign off. (Plastic Part Design, Fixture design and design Validation)

– You will have a strong fundamental understanding of the following: DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, Tolerance Analysis, GD&T, DVP and IMDS

– The Mechanical Design Engineer will have the ability to deliver innovative designs within defined functional constraints. 

– Experience of dealing coordinating and managing external manufacturing sources.

– Willingness to travel internationally to participate in line trials.
