Engine Builder, Bedfordshire £Neg PAYE Umb 12month Contract

Unknown Recruitment is now looking for an experienced Engine Builder to take a lead in building prototype engines, a role that requires a mix of engine build and development, test bed set up skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work on new powertrain technology innovation programs.

Engine Builder Responsibilities:

* Hands on Build and/ or supervise build of Prototype engines in accordance with instructions from Design/ Systems team.

* Completing and maintaining build book, recording all parts, measurements and torques

* Managing efficient storage of parts in relation to engine builds.

* Providing feedback build notes to design and problem resolution where required.

Engine Builder Requirements:

* Recognised Mechanical / Production / General Engineering apprenticeship, or hold an appropriate qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND or Degree)

* Significant experience over a range of engine sizes to include HD Truck engine in the following areas:

*

* Engine teardown, parts measurement, grading, and off torque recordings

* Engine build and documentation, test bed setup and instrumentation and commissioning.

* Managing Stock of spares for rebuild and ongoing maintenance.

* Awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace (IOSH Managing Safely is desirable)

* Supervisory experience, with excellent planning and organisation skills

Other desirable experience includes:

*

* Familiarity with Problem resolution such as 5 Why/ 8D/ Shainin Red X

* Gas engine set up and maintenance

* Experience with FPT Cursor range of engines or Series 8000
