Our client is Europe’s leading automotive lighting designer and manufacturer for the luxury and supercar markets. They supply headlamps and rear lamps for many of the world’s most iconic car brands. The organisation has grown significantly in recent years and was sold to a large Chinese corporation at the end of 2019. The parent company have a strong desire to invest significantly and continue to grow their share of the European and North American automotive lighting markets. Our client is focussed on its transformation to be a world-class manufacturer and as such wants to attract the best individuals who have the drive and commitment to contribute to the positive change of the business.

Role & Responsibilities

* Setup, monitoring and analysis of electrical tests using programmable power supplies

* Analysis of electrical defects on customer returns

* Analysis of rejected production PCBs to determine cause of failure

* Feedback test results to project teams / Electronic Design Engineers and assist in resolving test failures

* Communicate results of analysis with SQA and supplier

* Compile detailed test reports in accordance with company and customer requirements.

* Manufacture test boxes, harnesses, and electronic interfaces to support testing activities

* Assembly of prototype electronics (mostly SMT) to support electronics design

Experience & Qualifications required

* Experience of electronic failure analysis

* Self motivated to produce high quality work and complete tasks within deadlines

* Ability to organise and effectively record testing activities and results.

* Ability to write accurate and detailed test reports using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience & Qualifications preferred

* Experience with SBC based test equipment (Rpi)

* Previous experience of prototype SMT assembly – 0603 size components

* Educated to a minimum of HNC/HND Level in a relevant engineering or scientific subject
