Purpose of the role:
To help refine, define, and develop our clients high and low voltage hardware. The electronics engineer is an experienced individual from the EV / PHEV industry with the ability to quickly shift from designing system architectures to careful selection of components.
Key Responsibilities:
* Translate legal requirements, standard practices, and industry direction (R100) into specifications for electrical architecture.
* Work with control systems lead to define common HV/LV design between classic and commercial vehicles.
* Guide mechanical design engineers through the development of high voltage power distribution units (HVPDU), battery design, component selection, mounting, and wiring routing and specification.
* Refine and help enforce various commissioning and test procedures regarding HV Battery, HV/LV Vehicle, subsystem, and end of line.
* Guide electrical hardware and component selection processes through program gateways.
* Develop and help leads enforce standard design practices such as creepage / clearances.
* Manage and check wiring diagrams.
Skills:
* Advanced knowledge of high and low voltage automotive systems design.
* Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults quickly and communicate corrective actions required.
* Examples of working to high standards in build process including documentation, build checks, signoffs, etc.
* Ability to communicate succinctly and clearly about needs and issues.
Attributes:
* Hands-on experience either in professional or personal environments (Personal projects, working with factory floor, etc).
* Experience working in small, collaborative environments.
* Ability to create and maintain their own momentum in workplace.

Qualifications:
(Essential)
* 5+ years in HV design in automotive industry
* Hands-on prototype experience EV / PHEV vehicles
* Advanced HV training
(Desirable)
* IMI Level 4 certification
* 10+ Years HV design in automotive industry
* Experience in commercial vehicles
* Experience with specialty HV equipment such as Regatrons
