Our client is Europe’s leading automotive lighting designer and manufacturer for the luxury and supercar markets. They supply headlamps and rear lamps for many of the world’s most iconic car brands. The organisation has grown significantly in recent years and was sold to a large Chinese corporation at the end of 2019. The parent company have a strong desire to invest significantly and continue to grow their share of the European and North American automotive lighting markets. Our client is focussed on its transformation to be a world-class manufacturer and as such wants to attract the best individuals who have the drive and commitment to contribute to the positive change of the business.
Main Purpose: –
Responsible for delivering the Quality strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost, and delivery, optimising production quality levels and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.
* Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
* Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
* Update quality documentation and communicate any carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns.
* Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
* Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
* Undertake internal process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS).
* Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards, and documentation.
* Report against agreed quality metrics on a monthly basis.
* Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality.
* Attend various meeting and action/communicate instructions.
* Produce written reports and make presentations.
* Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Desirable technical degree minimum HNC.
* 3 years (min) in a similar role within an OEM or Tier One Supplier.
* Strong demonstratable problem solving skills (8D, PPS and advanced problem solving).
* Inspection background able to use measurement equipment and understand technical drawings (GD&T).
* Sector product and process knowledge.
* Competence with APAP and PPAP experience.
* IAFT 16949 auditing experience essential (VDA optional).
* Microsoft Office Predominantly Excel, Powerpoint, Minitab experience.
* Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
* Able to communicate and build relationships from shop floor to director level.
