Purpose of the role:
To help develop both high voltage and low voltage logic for our clients classic and commercial vehicles. The controls engineers will have a breadth of experience within EV vehicle development to clearly specify requirements to suppliers, manage the implementation of 3rd party systems and develop safe and efficient algorithms to manage vehicle behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with controls systems lead to clearly define attribute and behavior targets for both commercial and classic vehicles.
* Work with both internal and external resources to achieve desired calibrations.
* Help develop software release procedure to ensure all released updates are safe and robust.
* Evolve and maintain good practice processes within software team including revision control, gateway approvals and documentation.
* Help source and integrate third party systems to create cost-effective and elegant EV architecture, including battery management systems.
* Outline safety and diagnostic requirements for control system hardware and software.
Skills:
* Demonstrated excellence in prototype vehicle application development.
* Creative, lateral thinking to find both temporary and permanent solutions.
* Examples of working to high standards in build process including documentation, build checks, signoffs, etc.
* Ability to communicate succinctly and clearly about needs and issues.

Qualifications:
(Essential)
* 2 + years in control systems development for EV / PHEV vehicles
* Experience with third party control systems (MoTec, GEMS, Pi Innovo, etc)
* 5 + years with MATLAB/Simulink environment
* Automotive background
* Valid UK/EU Drivers License
