Business Controller – Used Trucks & Rental
Fixed term contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave
Salary: From £50,000 + excellent benefits package
Summary
You will control, analyse and report on all aspects of the Used Truck business. Control and manage the reporting aspects of the Truck Rental Business, and play a lead role in assisting the Heads of Used Trucks and Rental in driving the financial and non-financial performance of the Businesses. You will be based at the modern Support Centre offices in Milton Keynes with the option to work from remotely for part of the week, this position will also involve some travel to branch locations within the region therefore applicants should hold a full driving licence and be comfortable with overnight stays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Month end accounting for Used Trucks, including margin and stock reporting and analysis.
Review and analyse the performance and trends for Used Trucks and Rental, ensuring the correct balance between control and support (harmonious tension).
Work closely with the Heads of Used Trucks and Rental, in ensuring used stock is managed in a balanced and efficient manner, and the best possible processes are implemented to compliment the sales effort.
Undertake monthly business reviews with Regional Managers to drive the financial performance of the operation with strong emphasis on improving information flow, stock control, Rental utilisation, margin management and cash flow.
Manage the Rental fleet profiling process, in close conjunction with the input requirements for Used Trucks, in order to optimise Rental utilisation and purchasing cycles for Rental and Used.
Manage the central administration function for Used Trucks and Rental, ensuring data integrity and adherence to agreed work flows.
Provide analysis of trends relating to all areas of Used Trucks and Rental, and help influence and challenge future decisions.
Undertake benchmarking exercises to identify improvements in Regional and Departmental performance.
Balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts relating to Used Trucks.
Annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for all Used Truck and Rental departments.
Drive the development and continual improvement of best practice in the regions with strong emphasis on process and control.
Undertake ad-hoc projects as required by the HoFC.
Candidate Requirements
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and recommend actions based on multiple information sources.
Effective communication and presentation skills both verbally and written.
Good interpersonal skills for communication with all levels of staff within the organisation.
Ability to organise work and be self-motivated.
An ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
Desirable
Qualified accountant with proven commercial analysis skills
Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
An ability to work to tight deadlines
Previous automotive experience and knowledge of Autoline 8.35
