Bid Manager
The Company:
Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure of working alongside this global leading electric charging business. My client are the UK leaders within their sector. Over the course of 10 years, our customer has established itself as the market leader in electric vehicle charging, providing solutions for EV drivers to charge at home, at work and on the road. On their mission to make charging fast and hassle-free, their charging points have been used over 30 million times to enable around 200 million miles of zero tailpipe emission driving.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Bids and Tendering, you will be employed within the Bid Management Office (BMO) primarily to support tender opportunities within the Commercial Sales team and the network Expansion Team – tasked with rapidly growing their national charge point network – working with Local Authorities and landowners to deploy individual charge points and charging hubs. Your role will be to support the teams by co-ordinating and contributing to the creation of high-quality proposals that maximise the chance of winning the bid. You will also be a key member of the wider BMO team and support other Commercial Sales proposals.
Key Skills:
* Assist with identifying and assessing sales opportunities against pre-defined sales qualification criteria, business knowledge and experience.
* Work with Commercial Sales and the Expansion Team to qualify tender opportunities that are aligned with business objectives.
* Develop fit for purpose offers for potential partners from different sectors (City Councils, Retailers, OEMs, fleets) in a fully funded framework including our full range of products, commercial terms, phasing and deployment plan.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop winning bid strategies.
* Drive integrated offers and maximise the value by building the synergies between Expansion, Commercial and Home Charge teams
* Engage proposal contributors and stakeholders and define, assign and manage work packages with key business stakeholders.
* Organise and manage major bids and tenders through to completion.
* Be responsible for completion of standard company data and questions using boiler plate responses, where this is appropriate.
* Manage and co-ordinate the virtual bid team in completion of all proposal content to ensure the timely submission of tenders.
* Assist in the maintenance and management of historic, existing and future tender documentation, and in the maintenance and ongoing improvement of bid library and boiler plate content.
* Adherence to the requirements of the Bid Process and bid governance.
* Participation in ongoing improvements to the Bid Process, Bid Library content and other aspects of the BMO.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Bid Manager
* Excellent organisation skills
* Attention to detail
* Time management
* A team player
* Ability to work under pressure
* Competent IT skills including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Commercial acumen
* Previous experience in a Bid Management or Sales environment
* APMP Foundation certification
* Previous experience in Electric Vehicle Charging market (Beneficial)
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Bid Manager. This is a great opportunity for a Bid Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
The Location:

Salary: Up to £50k + great benefits including contributed pension scheme, 25 days + 8 days bank holidays + EV leasing scheme (once successfully completed probation)
