Bovingdon Airfield Studios – Studio Operations Manager
Bovingdon Airfield has been telling stories ever since World War II where it was the home to the RAF and USAAF, and the iconic B-17 Flying Fortress. Today the airfield hosts global majors in the film production industry, continuing to tell great stories and provide world class entertainment, for both the large and the small screen.
Surrounded by farmland on the fringe of the village of Bovingdon, with excellent access to London, Heathrow airport and major road and rail networks, the airfield has a distinct country and historic feel to it, making it a truly unique film production facility.
Privately owned, Bovingdon Airfield Studios is expanding with exciting growth ambitions – so much so, that they are looking to appoint a Studio Operations Manager.
What is the role?
The Studio Operations Manager role is multi dimensional and the perfect job for an energetic, customer focussed, highly organised person. The key responsibilities include:-
Ensuring that the production teams have the experience that proves that Bovingdon Airfield Studios is the best place for clients to produce films.
Manage site operations to the highest standards of professional efficiency, security and safety.
Identify and appoint service providers that will deliver the services and facilities that allow the production teams to operate at their creative best.
Design, implement and ensure operational controls are maintained and understood across the site at all times, whilst delivering the highest level of user experience.
Prepare and manage operational budgets for the site and efficiently manage operations within those budgets and plans.
Oversee Marketing and PR activities that positively enhance the reputation of Bovingdon Airfield Studios.
Manage and control the booking system to optimise efficiency of site asset utilisation whilst meeting the needs of clients.
Continuously improve the efficient functioning and operations of the site, re-enforcing Bovingdon Airfield Studios' reputation as the most desirable location for film and TV production.
Commissioning a sustainability report and overseeing the implementation of its recommendations.This is a permanent position and the successful candidate can expect:

You have 5+ years of production facilities operational experience in a fast paced environment, solving complex problems.
You have excellent project management skills with proven ability to make sound judgement calls and prioritisation.
You are highly customer focussed, with the ability to create an excellent customer experience without compromising controls and standards.
You possess excellent negotiation skills, familiar with appointing and managing service providers and sub-contractors.
You have a strong understanding of production workflow across bookings, scheduling and production process.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
