Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our hatchery based in Quainton, Buckinghamshire.

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a strong team player with a high regard for health, safety and poultry welfare to maintain on a daily basis, the hatcheries machinery and associated plant and ancillary equipment allied with the establishment process, such as setting and hatching machines & ventilation, and to carry out ongoing improvement projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Conduct and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance checks on the hatchery machinery and associated equipment as part of a PPM procedure
• Maintain and repair machinery and equipment where necessary
• Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times
• Monitor and keep stocks of mechanical/electrical spares
• Liaise with contractors maintaining a professional image of the Company at all times
• Assist the hatchery team in the hatching process as and when required
• Partake in machinery modification projects as agreed with Manager
This is a hands on role and involves a number of manual processes including lifting equipment in the region of 25kgs. You will also be required to work independently in farm buildings
What we are looking for:
• Qualified in a relevant engineering trade
• Broad understanding mechanical processes
• A good understanding of mechanical assemblies
• A useful knowledge of facilities maintenance, including welding and fabrication, plumbing and pipe fitting
• A good team player with effective communication skills
• Committed and reliable with a flexible attitude
• Ability to use own initiative and work independently if required and prioritise workload
