Environmental Technician – £35,000 – £45,000
The successful candidate will likely originate from within the Landfill Gas sector, however, applications from other industries will still be considered. You will need to be self-motivated and keen to make a positive contribution to environment.
The Environmental Technician will manage gas control systems and electricity generation from Landfill Gas.
The primary duties are to:
* Monitor and measure performance of the gas field, generators and flare plants.
* Carry out repairs and service to gas pipes and associated pumps.
* Maximise Landfill Gas recovery and treatment to ensure environmental protection is optimised and beneficial use of Landfill gas is maximised.
* Management and liaison of all subcontractors in accordance with environmental and regulatory compliance.
* Issuing Permits to Work.
* Collect, understand and record data to deliver to the environmental agency, in line with budgeted targets.
* Interrogate data to enable planning of system extensions and reinforcement to minimise loss of performance.
* Assist with developing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining gas management system/infrastructure.
* Identify and recommend improvements to deliver maximised performance in the gas field.
* Take and record daily readings/data and inform the Engineer of any anomalies.

Geographical sites are mainly located in the Home Counties, however the Environmental Technician will also work from home with occasional travel to regions elsewhere.
