Our client, is a public distance Learning and Research University, and one of the biggest universities in the UK for undergraduate education.
The staff are committed to putting their students first and to supporting them to realise their potential. Study with the OU is more than just education – it is life changing learning, do you want to be part of this team?
They are looking to recruit Media Assistants to join their Learner & Discovery Services department from 19th July until 24th December 2021, working 37hrs a week and paying £11.99ph. The role is required to reproduce online module materials into books (offline versions), so students can study from a book instead of from the internet.
The role involves downloading blueprints, which state what needs to be sourced from a module website, and converting webpages to PDFs and stitching the PDFs together into a print-ready file, you then follow a process to pass to the printers. In addition, the job involves uploading PDFs to the module website, so that students can print off individual pages they might need, and sending checklists to the warehouse. The role includes managing the workload tracker in Excel and the work will require liaising with other colleagues and managers.
You will need to have the ability to work on many IT systems, be comfortable managing your own workload and being part of a team.
Our client promotes diversity in employment and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
If this is the ideal role for you, please apply online or call Sophie Holmes or Angela Hoxley on (phone number removed) to discuss further
