Legal Secretary

Milton Keynes or Northampton office

£26,000 (plus excellent benefits)

Due to a recent change, this firm is looking to expand its Commercial Property team with the addition of a Legal Secretary, to support their fee earners.

Duties and responsibilities for the Legal Secretary role include:

Working with a solicitor who undertakes commercial property law
Opening new files to include sending initial letters to client and obtaining money on account
Undertaking anti-money laundering searches and completing compliance documentation accordingly
Undertaking searches
Completion of accounts paperwork for monies received and monies out
Typing
Taking telephone calls from clients, estate agents and third party solicitors and providing appropriate updates where necessary
Using case management system
Assisting with the paperwork/processes for completion
Post-completion to include completion of AP1 forms etc.
Sending post completion letters to relevant parties
Reception duties on an ad hoc basis
Closing of files and following archiving procedures

Skills and experience required for the Legal Secretary role:

Legal Secretarial experience is essential
Demonstrate that you have the ability of supporting fee earners/partners
A positive attitude to work and an enthusiasm to do a good job
Excellent organisation skills and proficient in audio transcription
A competent user of Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Accuracy and attention to detail
Professional telephone manner
