Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Receptionist to join their Neath Hill Health Centre team based in Milton Keynes. You will be joining on a permanent basis, working 25 hours per week and in return you will receive a competitive salary.

About the role:
As their Lead Receptionist, you will be responsible for the leadership and supervision of a team of receptionists, ensuring all reception duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. Support the management team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, Quality & CI, Confidentiality, Collaborative Working, Service Delivery, Learning and Development and carry out other duties as directed by the management team.
Your responsibilities as their Lead Receptionist will include to:
– Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead
– Produce, maintain and participate in the receptionist rota for lunch, out of hours, holiday and sickness cover
– Support reception staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training
– Identify and provide team training where required
– Ensure the completion of opening and closing procedures in accordance with practice policy
– Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting room
– Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice. Acknowledge a patient’s arrival at the desk, if the situation is unmanageable at the time due to the number of patients waiting then advise the patients in the queue you will be with them as soon as possible
– Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately. Take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery. Be polite and helpful at ALL times. If a patient’s behaviour becomes unacceptably abusive refer to the practice manager. Do not shout or respond in a rude manner to the patient.
– Complete all practice process and administrative tasks, as required.
– Signpost patients to the correct service.
As their Lead Receptionist, you’ll ideally have:
– 2+ years’ experience as a receptionist within a GP surgery environment (essential)
– 1+ years’ experience in as a senior receptionist in a GP surgery (desirable but not essential)
– Familiarity with SystemOne
– Aptitude to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks based on importance
– Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, common sense, and local knowledge, to respond to enquiries and requests while adhering to practice limitations
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills whilst demonstrating empathy
– Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
– An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
