Laboratory Training Coordinator – FTC
Milton Keynes
Salary: DOE
Current shifts 8am-8pm, 8pm-8am
The Laboratory Training Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the Training Manager, Shift Managers and Section Managers to ensure work in the laboratory is undertaken safely, efficiently and to the quality standards required of ISO15189:2012 laboratory accreditation. Working closely with the Section Managers the Laboratory Training Coordinator will maintain records of trainers for each section and ensure their competencies are checked at regular intervals. Assist the Section Managers in reviewing the current training procedures to ensure they are fit of a high standard and to submit and update documents on Q-Pulse as necessary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure the training packages are fit for purpose, reviewing regularly
2. Ensure Trainers are competent to deliver the training, reviewing at regular intervals
3. Ensure competencies of staff at reviewed at regular intervals
4. Ensure all quality standards and Health & Safety procedure are being followed
5. Maintain records of staff awareness of any changes to procedures
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Extensive experience of working and maintaining documents and procedures within laboratory accreditation specifications (ISO15189:2012/ISO17025:2019)
2. Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety regulations
3. Exceptional organisational skills
4. Positive attitude with proven problem-solving skills
5. Experience of using of a QMS
6. Be able to commit to the role for a period of 6 months
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. BSc Honours degree in a biological science
2. Experience of working within a laboratory environment
3. Experience of using PCR methods
4. Experience of training and supervision of staff in a laboratory setting
