Purpose of Job
The Bid Manager will have responsibility for project managing allocated bid opportunities from initial assessment to shaping the bid strategy through to facilitating the technical / commercial / financial aspects of the bid / tender submission. The job holder will be experienced in commercial bids and associated processes.
Key Features
1 Coordinating and delivering submissions for business development opportunities
1.1 Producing high-quality proposals, including coordinating and editing written content
1.2 Ensuring the timely completion of allocated activities
1.3 Aligning all materials with corporate brand guidelines and company bid standards
1.4 Monitoring and reporting on bid activity performance against work plans
1.5 Assisting with development of best practice, tools and information
1.6 Building and developing relationships with a variety of business unit teams / departments
1.7 Working with technical / specialised information
Principal Reporting Accountabilities
2 Assist in daily / weekly / monthly and ad hoc reporting on pipeline, opportunities and other management information related to projects for the Group Bid Manager
2.1 Work to KPIs and understand importance of accountability within the business
2.2 Attendance at sales and management meetings as required
2.3 This is a Group wide role and requires travel by car between the various sites
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
3 The job holder needs to be a strong communicator at all levels and must be able to win the trust and co-operation of administrative-level employees as well as working at director level
3.1 An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with a good standard of English, maths, excellent presentation skills and verbal reasoning ability is essential
3.2 Self-motivated, able to take the initiative and work closely with colleagues
3.3 Experience of working with detailed procurement processes, particularly in the public sector
3.4 Project management / stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively use shared directory / management information is required
3.5 Able to work well under pressure and deliver to immovable deadlines
3.6 Possess a confident, enthusiastic and flexible approach to activities
3.7 Work with agility and integrate well as part of a bid team
