I help to make a difference!
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work – if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.
As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.
Practice Plus Group is the Health in Justice market leader – 3 years ago we were managing 12 prison healthcare services and in 2019 we're providing healthcare services in over 40 prisons across the country.
Our core values are; everyone makes a difference, patients are at the heart of everything we do and together we make things better. If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!
In return for your hard work you will…
Receive an annual salary of up to £21,000 per annum depending on experience. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme and 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays.
Other benefits include cycle to work scheme, online retail discounts, plus training and clerical development opportunities.
What do we need from you so you can do the job?
You'll be carrying out general administrative duties within the healthcare department of the prison. Working within set routines, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service to the unit, and able to deal efficiently and courteously with patients and staff enquiries.
A key responsibility is the collection and collation of accurate service performance data for internal and external reporting requirements.
The situation in the prison can change at any minute. You need to be able to communicate effectively, work as part of a team and follow instruction diligently.
It’s this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences but you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best practice possible from both the healthcare team and the prison team.
You'll need to be confident in a prison setting as the office will be based in Healthcare, off a prison wing.
