Semi Senior Accountant
We are a boutique firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in Milton Keynes having been organically grown and established for over 15 years. We are a team of 7 in our firm with a view to growing over the years. As a firm, we specialize in the IT consultancy, construction, retail/wholesale, Online trade, and leasing sectors. We are currently looking for a semi senior accountant to help us grow our firm and take it to the next level, We pride ourselves on completely automating the practice with various cloud-based software to assist us. We strongly believe in on-the-job training and have our subscriptions aligned to various such companies such as LexisNexis, Croner Taxwise, the 2020 group, etc to name a few for online webinars, knowledge-based articles, case studies, and HMRC tax laws to ensure you are kept up to date at any given time. Our subscriptions also go further towards a dedicated VIP line to ex HMRC inspectors for any support on tax and other compliance challenges that you may encounter. With this in mind, we offer you a semi senior position with the following criteria as given below.
* Position: Full Time – Monday to Friday 09:00 am to 5:30 pm
* Reporting: Director and Practice Manager
* Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays
* Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 based on experience
* Benefits: Company Pension plan plus a day increase in holiday for every successful year completion with the firm
Skill required
Qualified AAT or equivalent with 2.5 years practice experience
Good spoken English vocabulary
Excellent Telephone manners and confidence in speaking with clients and suppliers.
Good proficiency in Microsoft package (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc)
Good understanding of information technology and ability to understand and learn different software to meet the need of the practice
Software proficiency (training and support provided where necessary)
Microsoft Office suite
Accountancy Practice Manager
XERO / Receipt Bank (DEXT)
Sage AP, Sage CT, and Digita Tax software
Responsibilities
* Manage client data on Accountancy Manager Software (A client CRM system) (training provided) from a compliance perspective
* Preparation of Year-end accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies
* Preparing and filing self-assessment tax returns
* Preparing books of account (Bookkeeping) using Xero and Dext (Receipt Bank)
* Preparing VAT returns, liaising with clients, and ability to work independently
* Excellent knowledge of cloud-based accounting software
* Proactive, working as a team member and towards the growth of the practice.
* Other Ad-hoc duties to support the team
