Hours:
37.5hours a week
We can be flexible on core hours but must be able to support all shifts when required e.g. going on site during
night shift for a few hours on a monthly basis, covering weekends at peak times.
Pay Range:
£25,000-£32,000 depending on experience
Purpose:
As a Planning Analyst in our business you will work collaboratively with Operations to ensure that we build a
plan that allows us to work proactively, balancing service and cost across our distribution network.
You will build and develop planning tools that enable us to manage multi-million pound spend across 4
distribution centres.
You will also drive our future ways of working through preparing scenario analyses and giving insight to
operational Partners to make decisions.
Primary accountabilities and deliverables:
● Support the Operational activity across 4 Distribution Centres by working closely with Operations
and other Stakeholders to understand their ways of working and enable you to provide robust plans.
● Review business forecasts and understand the activity drivers that will impact our Distribution Centre
operations. Work with planning teams to provide healthy challenge. Seek out additional information
from a range of business stakeholders to improve our planning insight.
● Build planning tools in Google Sheets, making them logical and robust to use. Write SOPs and train
others to use them.
● Work with Operational managers to coach them in the use of the plans, help develop the plans
further and ensure a robust weekly plan is in place. Review the plan success and improvement areas.
● Shape and develop the plan, looking out at least 6-8 weeks, advising any agency pool ramp ups,
training needs and operational changes that will be needed to deliver the plan.
● Build the peak plan, recommending the infrastructure requirements, skills and hours required to
deliver it. Work with business stakeholders to finalise plans.
● Review online 1 man and 2 man delivery volumes across a period of time, to smooth the resource
requirement and understand any risk to service, or opportunities, over peak times. Present insights to
senior leaders.
● Run scenario analysis: be able to take a question from the leadership team, interpret into a piece of
analysis, build the assumptions and data, create the outputs and draw out the insight for presentation
back to leaders.
Essential qualifications / experience:
● Ability to work with Google Sheets and/or Excel, using a range of formulas including sumifs,
importrange, array formulas. Ability to build models with inputs, assumptions, calculations and outputs
from scratch.
● A proven track record of working collaboratively with others and an ability to persuade others when
required.
● Ability to understand and articulate a process. Ability to interrogate data and processes: ask why in an
appropriate way.
Desirable:
● Experience in a Distribution Centre with an ecommerce pick, pack and despatch capability
● Experience using a Warehouse Management System to run queries
