Our client, is a public distance Learning and Research University, and one of the biggest universities in the UK for undergraduate education.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Research & Enterprise Project Manager to join their STEM Research team. This role is an immediate start until 31st July 2021, working 37hrs a week. This role is working from home and equipment will be supplied. The hourly rate is £17.57ph which equates to £33,797pa.
The Research Manager will support a number of externally and internally funded research projects. Working closely with the Research team to deliver the projects on time and within budget.
Duties:
Assisting colleagues and academics with the preparation of proposal budgets including costing and pricing within funder and University requirements, monitoring and highlighting project cost recovery to colleagues for approval.
Liaising with the OU legal team for review of grant terms and conditions and contracts of award.
Helping to prepare financial reports and papers for the Senior Managers, Associate Deans and other committees as appropriate.
Maintaining data files of research grants, including copies of initial proposals, awards, monthly reports, general correspondence and other relevant information.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a financial role, supporting bids and tenders
Competent using Excel to an intermediate level
Able to set up project meetings in MS Office and lead those meetings as appropriate
