About the role:
They are currently seeking a Rents and Service Charge Assistant Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role is to manage and progress the rents and service charges teams, dealing with the completion of annual rents / service charge reviews, new years charge increases, ensuring all compliance legislation is adhered to. You’ll also investigate and implement a service charge / reserve fund system and ensure efficient processes throughout the team. Your main responsibilities will include:

Managing the day to day delivery of the Service Charge Team, ensuring all service charges levied by the group adhere to relevant lease agreements
*
Overseeing the collection of the information required to prepare the annual service charge statements for all tenure types, ensuring that all costs are fair and reasonable
*
Managing the annual service charge statements review
*
Liaising with development / housing management and maintenance on the setting up of new schemes and service charges
*
Managing the handover process of service charges from the Development Team, ensuring that all information entered onto the housing system is accurate
*
Managing the calculation of reserve funds for all blocks
*
Overseeing the monthly calculation of reserved funds and ensuring reconciliation to the balance sheet
*
Reviewing all Major Works Section 20 and confirming relevant deductions from reserve funds are posted and reconciled
What they’re looking for:

Ideally an Accounting Technician Qualification or equivalent
*
Experience of rent review / setting and service charge processes including setting, monitoring and reviewing
*
Understanding of reserve funds and Section 20 process
*
Good all round knowledge of accounts eg budgetary process and preparation
*
Understanding of rent compliance
*
Experience of implementing new systems and improving processes
*
Experience of managing staff, completing check-ins and development plans
*
Advanced excel knowledge (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas)
*
Excellent organisational skills
*
Ability to work to deadlines and maintain clear and accurate records
