Experienced Project Accountant required for a large national service provider based in Milton Keynes.

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the Senior Finance Manager and wider project team, including data analysis and production of financial reports. Duties to include:

* Period end adjustments ensuring journals are submitted and entered and period close is achieved.

* Ensuring that costs are charged to the relevant contract and section code, using information provided from the project team and systems.

* Preparation and submission of monthly CIS returns to statutory deadline and to control and monitor subcontract accounts.

* Preparation and submission of VAT returns by the statutory deadline.

* Preparing and reviewing weekly purchase ledger payment runs and to assist purchase ledger team as and when required.

* Reviewing bi-weekly subcontract payment runs to ensure they are paid as they fall due when approved by the commercial team.

* Payment performance reporting in line with government guidelines.

* Liaising with procurement, commercial and delivery teams where necessary to provide wider support towards the profitability of projects.

* Liaising with central finance teams of all partners to resolve any queries/issues arising from duties undertaken.

* Assisting with audit queries and requests for information.

* Data gathering, analysis and exception reporting.

* Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

The search would suit candidates with a background in construction. Previous project experience and an understanding for financial management experience is essential to this recruitment.

* Understanding cost management is essential.

* Experience of VAT and CIS reporting and submissions is required.

* Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft suite is required.
