Role purpose
To assist the Senior Product Manager in designing the strategy and development of the product offering for our client with consideration applied to the commercial, market, financial, risk, operational and regulatory requirements (internal and external) through robust risk management in addition to managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships. The role is primarily focussed on Retail Finance products, with support for other product types and business areas.
Key responsibilities
Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the sector, particularly the residential and BTL markets, bridging and related sectors
Assist in the management of all strategic, commercial, market and regulatory aspects of product development to effectively drive the Bank's product offering
Research, analyse and share – market data and customer insight
Assess market competition by comparing products and criteria and making recommendations as to strategic direction to achieve business goals
Provide management information for short-term and long-term product forecasts and special reports and analyses to aid growth targets
Assist in bringing new products to market by analysing requirements and product development programmes and compiling/presenting proposals to Bank committees
Assist in the planning of marketing for products by developing time-integrated plans with the Senior Product Manager and Marketing team
Assist in determining product pricing and life cycle management through market research data; review of MI, sales, costs and anticipate volume
Maintain the bank's presence on industry sourcing and criteria platforms as required
Deputise for the Senior Product Manager in internal/external meetings.Skills required
Product Management experience, within Banking or Financial Services – ideally within the UK home finance sector
Knowledge of the Shariah market is preferable but not essential.
Project management skills, including the ability to manage product risk, compliance and control activities
Considerable knowledge and experience of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of home finance products in UK regulated financial services context
Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others
Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issues/action points and drive resolution
