As we are recruiting for an experienced engineer to join a growing IT team to support the technology growth that the organisation is undertaking, you will be responsible for ensuring the sound management of the estate across both the Infrastructure as a Service platforms and within the container platforms. You will install, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve the businesses platform environments whilst also maintaining the reliability and performance of the IT infrastructure.
  
Principal Accountabilities

Configuration of Linux platforms (ubuntu)
Assisting the Architecture team with configurations as part of design
Automation of Patching and configuration of systems using ansible (driven by Jenkins)
Automation of deployment using Infrastructure as Code (terraform & ansible)
Ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house IT systems.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Proactive approach that allows you to gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.   
Experience

Working with Linux (Ubuntu) platforms
Experienced in implementing Microsoft Azure cloud solutions
Experience of Ansible to automate configuration ad patching
Working with the Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence etc)
Working with Automated deployments tools (such as Terraform)
Awareness of Jenkins to create automation pipelines
Awareness of Application Container Technologies (Docker) and orchestration systems (Kubernetes)
Strong analytical skills
Understanding of network technologies
Great communication skills and enjoys working on own initiative
