Payroll and Tax Assistant
We are looking for a Payroll & Tax Manager for our ever growing client based in Milton Keynes.
Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will assist in the preparation of tax computations & compliance for a variety of clients. Work will cover both personal & corporate taxes (not VAT) – some previous experience in these areas would be useful, but training will be given. Client and HMRC contact will be required so good communication skills plus knowledge of Word and Excel are essential.
The Role
Assisting with the running of a payroll portfolio for around 200 clients, varying from Director only to around 100 employees – mainly monthly, but also weekly, fortnightly & 4 weekly.
Assisting with the running of the payrolls from start to finish, including sending out payslips & PAYE payment details to clients.
All payroll duties/calculations on all statutory payments i.e. SMP, SSP, Holiday Pay, P45, P46 & Sickness Pay
Process Leavers & Starters
PAYE – Tax and NI payments
Court Orders
Pension – Auto Enrolment & payments, including uploading to Pension companies & setting up new schemes.
Dealing with queries from employees/employers by email, telephone & written correspondence.
Payroll Reconciliations
RTI submissions
Dealing with queries from Government bodies
Manual calculations may be needed in order to explain payroll queries i.e. more tax
Assistance with CIS reconciliations including CIS monthly returns for a number of clients
P60 & end of year procedures
The role will be purely office based.
Salary between £22,000 – £24,000 depending on experience.
