Payroll Specialist, 6 Month Contrcat with strong option to extend, £200 per day, Bletchley, Lovely Company with great culture

Payroll Specialist Overview:

Working for a  lovely company in Bletchley the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for around 800 employees.  Employees are paid on a monthly basis so this position will take accountability for all areas associated with payroll. 

Duties:

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to lead the payroll functions. You'll work to ensure the payroll, expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time. A big part of your job will be to supervise the processes and liaise with other internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. The client in this instance also values integrity, team spirit and strong organisational skills.
Your goal will be to ensure the payroll procedures are compliant, efficient and current.

Responsibilities:

* Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
* Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
* Oversee processing of payroll changes and system upgrades
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
* Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
* Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
* Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
* Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role
* Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
* Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
* Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS and MS Office (especially Excel)
* A keen eye for detail
* An analytical mind and good math skills
* Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
* Organizational and leadership skills
