Accounts Assistant
Part Time (25 hours per week Monday – Friday)

Our client based in Milton Keynes is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their busy team. You will be required to work 25 hours per week, split over 5 days (Monday to Friday). Training will take place on site, but you will then be offered the flexibility of working from home part of the working week. The successful candidate will need to be willing to hit the ground running and be able to manage their own workload effectively.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Purchase Ledger – processing and paying Vendor invoices.
· Matching supplier invoices with Purchase Orders.
· Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
· Reconciliation of supplier statements.
· Sales ledger activities – including Credit Control.
· Setting up new customer accounts.
· Credit checking customers.
· Maintaining cash books.
· Reconciling cash books to bank statements and to the trial balance.
· Managing Petty Cash and processing of staff expenses.
· Journal transactions to the nominal ledger including prepayments and accruals.
· VAT returns.
· Assisting the Finance Manager with adhoc projects.
· General office support.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
Proven strong administrative and organisational skills.
Familiar with Excel and excellent IT skills.
Able to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Good communicator.
Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive information.
Proactive with high levels of initiative.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature.
