Java / C# Developer – Scala – Big Data – Milton Keynes

I'm currently working with a global financial services organisation who are looking to build out a new function focused around application development within the big data domain. They are changing the face of their industry and invested heavily into a multi mullion pound cloud transformation programme which sets them even further apart from their competitors.

This role sits within a newly formed team who will be focused on big data applications hosted within Hadoop & Spark so a really good opportunity for candidates who ideally have scala programming experience, but also C# / Java application development experience to take a step into the big data domain and environment.

This is a salaried position paying between £40,000-£60,000 dependent on experience as well as a unbeliveable benefits package. This comprises of flexible working, uncapped bonus, a great pension scheme as well as other great benefits.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

Technical expertise in Scala ideally however happy to look at Java OR C#
Applicants who are happy to be Cross-trained or further upskilled into Scala and Cloudera Hadoop
Hands on developer with experience of working within an agile scrum team
Participate in support for existing implementation
Contribute to the definition of development standards, patterns and techniques
Active and positive contributor to model/design storming sessions, sprint demos, planning sessions and retrospectives
Translate high level solutions into high quality technical artefacts; thinks 'outside of the box' to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives within the constraints of a regulatory environment
Maintain a high quality set of documentation
