Head of Business Control – Services & Truck Rental

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: Competitive

Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:45 to 17:00

Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Head of Business Control to join the team based at our Milton Keynes Support Centre.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the Business Control team including coordination and development of reporting and analysis to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Review and analyse the performance and trends of the Services operation to drive performance.
Working with the Truck Rental General Manager, undertake margin analysis, branch performance reviews and fleet profiling to maximise utilisation and profitability of the truck rental operation.
Support the Services director in decision making and future direction.
Review critical P&L and working capital targets monthly to ensure adherence to plan.
Along with the Services Director, hold the departmental Directors / Managers to account over the performance of their branch / departmental operation.  Ensuring the correct balance between control and support (harmonious tension).
Ensure that branch operations are conforming to Dealer Performance Standards in respect of daily, weekly, monthly follow ups.
Undertake benchmarking exercises against other Scania BUs in respect of workshop and parts performance.
Oversee the preparation of all investment appraisals, from small tooling to new branches, for presentation to the local and executive Scania boards.
Preparation of the Quarterly Projection, Annual Budget and Business Planning process for all the Services functions and Truck Rental.
Monitor adherence to the expenses Budgets and Projections for the MK Services and Truck Rental functions.
Strive for continuous improvement in all financial and control related activities within the Services and Truck Rental functions.
Proactively work with the Finance Department to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials to Group and compliance with internal controls and standards.
Review and approve all commission schemes and payments.
Liaise with internal & external Auditors where required for all Services & Truck Rental related activities.

Candidate Requirements

CIMA/ACCA Qualification
Strong Commercial Awareness
The ability to adhere to multiple, strict deadlines is essential.
Leadership skill to manage a small team.
Communication and presentation skills to influence staff at all levels.
Experience in multi-site accounting
