Zachary Daniels Finance are proud to be partnered with a privately owned property group to support them in the appointment of a Financial Controller. The purpose of this role is to direct the growth of its embryonic finance department and be accountable for the overall financial strategy of the business going forward.
About the role
This newly created Financial Controller role will develop and consolidate the existing finance team. There are legacy systems, processes and practices that need to be completely reviewed to assist further company growth and development.
Reporting into the MD, this role offers a genuine potential for rapid development into an FD role alongside department development and growth.
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller level individual who is hungry, hard-working and ambitious. This is a wonderful opportunity to take complete ownership of a finance department and be part of a team that will continue to grow and prosper through effective market growth and strategic delivery.
Key responsibilities
Work closely with MD to consolidate existing finance team and develop and deliver strategy to build a self contained finance department to carry out all accounting/finance functions.
Financial control of existing 40 branch group
Understand, execute and develop all required finance activities across the function including but not limited to Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, sales ledger, reconciliation, cash, budgeting, forecasting, commercial finance and systems.
Cash flow forecasting, reporting and presentation to the Board
Development and coaching of a new small finance team
Responsible for company compliance strategy to include; AML; and GDPR procedures
Person profile
ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified
Previous experience in a managerial finance role
Demonstrable experience and ability to manage all elements of the finance department
Appetite to work in a growing, privately owned, SME environment
Eye for detail, willingness to overhaul and improve all aspects of the existing finance function including systems
Energetic, ambitious and hungry character.
Please note that Head Office is based in Loughborough but my client is relatively open to location and working week pattern

Salary £50,000 – £60,000 + Bonus, Car/Car Allowance; PMI; DIS (4X Salary); 5 Weeks Holiday
