We are an innovative global producer of sustainable distributed energy with a genuine desire to grow whilst bringing about positive change. We now require an experienced Financial Controller, (on potentially 4 or 5 days a week) based in our UK head office in Northamptonshire.
 
BASIC SALARY: £60,000 – £75,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant : Energy Solutions / Renewable Energy
 
As our Financial Controller you will assume responsibility for all financial accounting, financial processes and controls across UK & Europe, and play a key role in the UK management team. The role will also include some shared reporting requirements which will include working with the global corporate finance function. You will ensure financial reporting is performed accurately and timely in line with group and statutory deadlines and work closely with the colleagues with the UK business and Head Office in Australia and USA.
 
You will also;
· Understand UK generation, revenue contracts and royalty contracts to ensure accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly results.
· Liaise with UK customers to ensure all their financial requirements are met.
· Review of revenue invoices, royalty statements, payment runs and VAT returns prior to issue.
· Assist with the preparation and forecast reporting of P&L and capital budgets in accordance with Group and regional requirements.
· Oversee UK Audit & Tax management including corporation tax & tax computations for HMRC.
· Reconcile WIP & Fixed asset register.
· Management responsibilities for direct report.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant : Energy Solutions / Renewable Energy
 
Ultimately you will already demonstrate a proven track record in a Finance position managing a small team, ideally for an SME with some exposure to a renewable energy business. As well as this, you will also have:
· An understanding of business through financial results to provide analysis to Management and Operations to demonstrate issues faced by business.
· Accuracy and an understanding of all processes and required technical accounting competencies for a UK commercial team.
· The ability to manage workload and work independently to meet wider team/group deadlines and requirements.
· The confidence and accuracy to review and reconcile work of other team members and provide training where required.
· Experience of various financial systems, any experience of new system implementation would be advantageous.

It is likely you will have previously shown strong analytical and communicational skills, managed a Finance Team including European / International elements and worked with a variety of key stakeholders. It is also likely that you would have undertaken one of the following roles: Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant, Director of Finance, Finance and Commercial Manager, Group Finance Manager or Group Financial Controller.
