My client is a well-established Manufacturing company, based in the Warrington area of Milton Keynes. They are seeking a Financial Controller to join their established accounts team and work closely with the Managing Director. The Finance Manager will be tasked with overseeing a small finance team while also handling the monthly management reports for the business forecasting and handling other aspects of the business whilst working closely with the directors.

The ideal Company Accountant will have experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment and will be seeking a challenging role in a close-knit and ambitious business. Strong Management Accounts experience is essential as you will be the most senior accountant and running end-end company accounts.

Financial Controller Position Overview

Take responsibility for the day to day running of the accounts and finance function
Looking after a small team of accounts assistants
Cash flow reporting
Preparing monthly management accounts with balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and costings
Reviewing the Accounts Assistants work so the trial balance is correct at the year end
Manage cash and credit control
Work with external auditor for year-end
Oversee payroll and reconcile payroll journals
Prepare and submit VAT returns

Financial Controller Position Requirements

Previous experience within a manufacturing company is desirable
Previous experience working in a similar role
Preferably CIMA/ACCA qualified
Sage line 50 experience is essential, sage payroll also beneficial
Experience in working independently whilst managing a small accounts team

Financial Controller Position Remuneration

£40,000 – £50,000 per annum
