Role: Financial Controller – Milton Keynes (Hybrid)
Salary: £36,994 – £41,346 per annum, + benefits
Are you a qualified accountant of Christian faith, with excellent technical finance, accounting skills and experience of managing and inspiring teams within a financial support function?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-renowned children's charity to lead the Financial Accounting Unit which perform financial accounting and processing including delivering accurate and timely financial accounting services, processing campaigns and income, designing and implementing a robust financial control environment and performing treasury management.
This role will initially be working remotely, with long-term plans to become a Hybrid role between the Milton Keynes office and home.
With over 70 years of experience, our client works with communities, donors, partners, and governments to transform lives and create opportunities and better futures for vulnerable children.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Delivering timely, cost-effective financial services and a robust financial control environment.
*Leading, motivating, and developing team members and aligning their priorities.
*Providing advice and analysis to the organization on financial accounting, treasury, and tax matters, drawing on external advisers when appropriate.
*Leading on preparation of the annual financial statements and the statutory audit.
*Preparing and presenting relevant papers to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
*Driving process improvement and activities and supporting new system implementation projects.
The successful candidate will have:
*Substantial experience of leading, managing, and inspiring teams within a financial support function.
*Significant financial accounting experience, including the design and operation of financial controls and preparation of annual financial statements.
*Strong influencing skills including the confidence to challenge, make judgements and recommend changes.
*Experience of leading and / or engaging in process improvement activities and system implementation projects is desired.
*International NGO / charity financial accounting and SORP experience is preferred.
