Our client, based in Buckinghamshire, is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant on a permanent contract. Our client offers a variety of benefits including flexible working hours, home working, and bonus and employee recognition schemes.

The position is due to start as soon as possible on a full time basis and the salary is competitive.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, will have experience managing staff and will have experience working in the Social Housing sector.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

* Report into the Head of Finance and successfully manage six members of the Finance team

* Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts and returns to the Regulator and Funders including cashflows and consolidation

* Responsible for the short term Treasury Management of the Trust, including ensuring that the bank reconciliations are up to date and the Trust has sufficient funds to meet obligations as they fall due

* Investigate surplus funds according to the Trust’s Treasury Policy and drawing down against loans as required

* Responsible for the preparation of group VAT returns under the partial exemption method

* Ensure that the payroll arrangements are fit for purpose and operate effectively

* Uphold accurate fixed asset registers and ensure they are accurately reflected in the Financial Statements

* Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and systems and ensure value for money is achieved

* Take sole responsibility in the A to Z of the statutory accounting, as well as lead on all auditory requirements

Desirable skills:

* Social Housing background

* Intermediate level of Excel

Knowledge and expertise required:

* Management experience

* ACCA/FCCA/ CIMA qualified

Working hours

* 37 hours per week

* Monday – Friday, flexi time operates between 8:00am and 6:30pm (core hours 10-4)
