Care Concern Group is delighted to be growing from strength to strength, which is leading to new job opportunities in our head office.
We are currently looking to appoint a Finance Controller on a permanent basis,
The Finance Controller will report into the Finance Director.
This role is ideally suited for a qualified Accountant, who has strong interpersonal skills and a 'can do' approach.
The Contract:
* Salary between £55,000 – £60,000
* Hours of work: 9am – 5.30pm
* 1 hour for lunch

Responsibilities:
* Manage the compliance and day-to-day financial activities of the Group
* Provide finance advice and support to the business, where applicable in working towards understanding and improving their financial driven KPIs and to ensure the Group runs smoothly and efficiently
* Produce and manage all weekly and monthly reporting processes, reviewing and sense checking for completeness and accuracy, and understanding movements / variances. This includes weekly operational reports, monthly management reports and KPI schedules. Ensuring all deadlines are met
* Manage the working capital position of the Group via close supervision and involvement with credit control, sales ledger, and purchase ledger departments, including the production of weekly cash flow forecasts
* Preparation of budgets and forecasts
* Analysing current and past trends in key performance areas with a view to monitoring performance, highlighting trends, and identifying areas of improvement
* Ensure adequate financial processes, disciplines and controls are in place, maintained and adhered to throughout the different finance departments and the wider Group
* Regular review of costs to ensure spend levels are appropriate in line with policy and budget
* Develop an awareness of the activities of the Group to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
* Preparation of reports for funders including any necessary covenant compliance reporting
* Oversee the different finance functions and processes including payroll, intercompany and general ledger reconciliations, VAT returns etc.
* Recommend and implement finance systems to drive efficiencies
* Work with the wider organisation to help deliver operational projects
* Jointly manage the MI team (team of 7) with the other two finance controllers
Criteria:
* Be a qualified accountant; either ACCA or CIMA
* Good understanding of Management accounting, MI reporting, Credit Control, Sales Ledger and Accounts Payables
* Ability to produce and implement policy and processes
* Excellent organisational skills are essential, coupled with a logical thought process and lots of initiative
* Keen to seek out areas for improvement and be a driver of change
* Strong people manager and be able to work with and provide clear instructions to wider finance functions
* Experience of delivering Finance systems is preferable
* Experience of using Sage 200 & Xero is preferable
