We are seeking a Collections Officer to join our client’s busy finance business in Olney, Milton Keynes. The salary for this position is up to £25,000.

In the role of Collections Officer, you’ll manage debtor accounts in an assigned portfolio of customers, ensuring timely payments are made, processing incoming funds, resolving account queries, and managing direct debits and debt recovery.  

Responsibilities: 

The Collections Officer has an important role to play in supporting the financial function with responsibility to:

Ensure customers pay to terms
Maximise aged debt collection
Work closely alongside stakeholders to minimize risk whilst supporting business growth
Ensure customers pay to terms and chase any overdue invoices
Process incoming funds & maintain the reconciliation of accounts
Manage account queries to resolution Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:

We're looking for someone who can build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure the smooth running of their accounts. As such you'll have:

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
The ability to listen to customers and negotiate solutions
A results-orientated attitude to work
The ability to manage your time and work to deadlines
The ability to manage numerous tasks
Strong attention to detail
Patience and the ability to remain calm
An open and enthusiastic approach whilst remaining firm and professional Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

Experience in building relationships to negotiate payments on accounts
Experience of the finance / factoring industry Hours:

This is a full time, office-based role with flexible hours: Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:30 or 09.00 – 18.00 with a 45 minute lunch.
