Property Accountant
Part time – 15 hrs per week

Our client, a commercial property company provide office and industrial space to a range of occupiers. They are a small team with aspirations for considered growth and are looking for an efficient team member who is confident being customer facing, willing to problem solve and be creative in coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things. Able to work collaboratively but also independently, this is a role which can be shaped to suit and has opportunities for growth.
The Role:
Predominantly an Accounting role but with further scope to get involved in the wider property management of a commercial portfolio based in Buckinghamshire & Berkshire
Monthly / quarterly customer rent and service charge invoicing & dealing with customer queries
Calculation & recharging of additional services to customers where applicable
Credit control
Payment of supplier invoices & dealing with general queries
Posting, coding and reconciliation of transactions on Xero
Annual Service charge budget preparation
Assistance with budget vs actual monitoring
Tendering and negotiating supplier contracts
Working closely with the Directors on cashflow modelling when necessary
Regular liaison with external company accountants*
Additional involvement could include
Occasional site inspections
Dealing with maintenance issues
Ensure statutory compliance where appropriate
General Tenant liaison
Keeping up to date with market trends and willing to input new ideas in relation to environmental and social
*External accountants will prepare the quarterly VAT returns, quarterly management accounts and annual company / service charge accounts.
Skills:
Strong bookkeeping and VAT accounting / accounts payable experience;
Working knowledge of Xero is preferred;
Comfortable working with other management software;
Excellent IT skills
