Due to business expansion an opportunity has arisen for an Accountants Assistant to join a well-established accountancy practice on the outskirts of Maidenhead. This firm enjoys a high staff retention. This role will be within a friendly team, predominantly working on a mixed portfolio of SME clients. The role is open to applications for both full time and part time hours.
The role will be largely focused on accounts production, however the role will also provide support to the bookkeeping and VAT team and the personal tax team.
The main functions of this role will include:
* Accounts preparation for SME clients (FRS 102 Section 1a & FRS 105)
* Assisting the VAT team with preparation of quarterly management accounts and VAT returns
* Give advice to clients on salary and dividends
* Assist with Personal Tax Returns (experience desired but not essential as training will be provided)
* Be the first point of contact for allocated clients, responding to various client enquiries in an accurate and timely manner
* Develop an ongoing, effective relationship with clients and ensure retention of clients
* Working within a team to ensure deadlines are met and be able to work independently
The successful candidate will need to bring with them, significant experience from a similar role within a practice environment.
To be considered for this position, applicants will satisfy the following:
* Be a qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant
* Have a minimum of 5 years practice experience
* Have a solid experience of accountancy software e.g. Sage, IRIS, FreeAgent, Kashflow and other online bookkeeping software
* Be an amiable team player
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Be highly organised with attention to detail
