As a Children's Home Manager your main duties and responsibilities will be:
To be responsible for the management, co-ordination and development of a range of quality services for young people accommodated within the home.
Managing the home in accordance with The Children's Home Regulations and OFSTED's requirements.
Supporting the Operations Manager in driving forward high-quality experiences and outcomes for your children and staff.
Ensuring that each child has a voice, a care plan which reflects their needs and a key-worker assigned to them.
Ensuring a the home is a nurturing and homely environment.
Building positive relationships with local authority children’s services, external agencies and professionals.
Recruiting and inducting new staff members.
Providing operational management of the staff team, deploying appropriate staff resources in order that key tasks are fulfilled.
Working with your team to enhance their skills and identifying strengths for them to take further responsibility to progress their careers.Managing the home's budget and finances.
Contributing to the organisation by being part of management group meetings, projects and operational plans.

The successful Children's Home Manager will have the following essential attributes:
Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children
Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a children’s home
Hold a NVQ3 working with children and young people or a Diploma level 3, 4 or 5 in Residential Childcare
Excellent working knowledge of The Children's Homes Regulations and OFSTED requirements for children's homes
Full manual driving licence
