We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Procurement Team. This role is a permanent contract for a Procurement Specialist based at our head office in Marlow. Working alongside the Head of Procurement and Procurement Manager.

The role is an opportunity for a savvy, commercial procurement professional looking to develop their skills within a dynamic team and take ownership of their tactical procurement projects whilst building relationships across differing spend areas.

Essential Skills

Can show that you have worked in a similar fast paced, best practice environment.
Able to contribute to deliver an annual procurement programme.
Utilised an e-procurement system to distribute tenders.
Applied and deployed skills developed in a number of different categories / subcategories. This isn't a role where you will focus on one category. You will need to be versatile and commercially astute to identify opportunities, engaging to influence those they affect, and resilient to deliver the required traction for change.
Used your judgement. Life in Whistl is rewarding but its fast paced. You need to use your judgement as to when to run a project with a 7-step procurement process and when to accelerate the process with a lighter touch. Doing this has its risks so judging and mitigating this is key.
Strong and credible examples of engaging, influencing and managing stakeholders (who may have different ideas to yours!). We have acquired a number of businesses recently (& there will be more) and need to bring these into the fold so we can channel spend through group contracts and manage the risk and exploit opportunities.
Innovative commercial thinking to take cost out / down. We will want to know what you may have delivered in recently and how this will contribute to our team.
Built rewarding relationships with suppliers. Our supply chain is critical to our service delivery and our high risk/high spend suppliers are currently managed through our SRM programme to mitigate any disruption to Whistl Operations. We will be looking for examples or experience of where you have participated in a structured SRM programme or what ideas you have on what good supply chain management looks like. About Company
