This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Your skills and experience
The position reports to the Operations Manager. The Senior Operations Engineer role is a multi-faceted one involving the repair, support, production, test, installation and training of Air Traffic Management products. Typically an Operations Engineer will provide great customer service: “survey it”, “build it”, “go to customer site and install it”, “get customer to accept it” and “fix it “if it goes wrong” The role also includes the day-to-day management of a small team of Operations Engineering personnel
As a Senior Operations Engineer your skills and experience will ideally include:
* Skills to undertake the broad range of tasks within the scope of this role
* Excellent interpersonal skills and experience relating to external and internal customers
* Flexibility to work away from home on customer sites principally in the UK and occasionally abroad
* Experience preparing formal reports (e.g. site survey or site visit reports) for both internal and external customers
* Knowledge and experience of MS Office suite of software tools
* Ability to maintain strong working relationships and career development of your direct reports
* Direct work to be in accordance with Health and Safety and relevant regulatory requirements applicable both on and off site
* Experience presenting structured training to customers is an advantage
Educational Vocational Qualifications
* HNC/HND or a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
* 18th Edition standard wiring regulations or similar (training will be provided)
As a Senior Operations Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
* Support and manage the day-to-day commitments of the Operations Engineering team to meet and exceed customer expectation
* Carry out surveys, installations and configuration of new and existing equipment
* Prepare method statements, risk assessments and installation briefs
* Conduct test readiness and installation readiness review meetings
* Prepare Training documents and carry out customer product training
* Undertake Factory Acceptance testing and Site Acceptance testing where required
* Manage home support including customer Help Desk
* Manage and occasionally undertake PC and cabling repair and maintenance
* Support Engineering with updates to Manuals
* Provide installation estimates for quoting
* Comply with Company Procedures and assist in audit activities where required
