This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Your skills and experience
The Senior Systems Engineer is directly responsible to the ATS Team Lead covering all activities in the development of the ATS Radar pod to satisfy the NATO JEWCS contract. As the Systems/Lead Engineer you will have a sound knowledge of Analogue and Digital concepts and possess the expertise to develop and oversee novel RF sub-system level design for EW concepts operating up to 40GHz.
As a Senior Systems Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Bachelor Degree in Science/Technology or suitable equivalent
* (Essential) Credentials to, or have the ability to be cleared to SC
* Proven track record of developing electronics system architecture’s and supporting documentation in relation to military equipment.
* Experience of deriving and capturing system level requirements from High Level customer requirements preferably using IBM DOORS NG
* Proven track record in managing Electrical budgets, RF link budgets and SWAP.
* Proven track record of leading projects and multi-discipline teams.
* Familiar in leading internal/external design reviews.
* Experience of writing technical requirements for RF systems & sub-systems
* Experience of evaluating technical proposals from suppliers of RF systems & sub-systems
* Familiar with the integration of Analogue, Digital & RF sub-systems.
* Ability to interface and effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external customers/stakeholders at all levels
* Collaboration with PM / supply chain / suppliers
* Risk management and mitigation paths
* Identification of work packages and estimation
* Experience in Project life-cycle delivery from bids to operation
* Change control
As a Senior Systems Engineer, the desirable skills will include:
* Proven track record with at least 5 years’ experience working with RF products and antenna systems up to 40GHz.
* Good knowledge of current RF technologies including – Low noise receiver design, RF sampling ADC’s and DAC’s, Oscillator / Synthesiser’s & receiver protectors.
* Experience of developing, writing and implementing test and verification plans for RF sub-systems and complete systems.
* Experience in the support of formal Validation/Qualification testing and Customer acceptance testing.
* Experience of design or manufacturing in the aviation industry
* Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
* Excellent problem solving skills, utilising experience, sound judgment and interpersonal skills.
