This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Your skills and experience
The position reports to the Operations Manager, ATC. The ATC Operations Engineer role is a multi-faceted one involving the production, test, installation, training, repair and support of ATC products. Typically an Operations Engineer will provide great customer service: “survey it”, “build it”, “go to customer site and install it”, “get customer to accept it” and “fix it “if it goes wrong” The role also includes supporting the day to today management of the ATC Operations Engineers and Junior operations Engineer
As a Senior ATC Operations Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Skills to undertake the complete range of tasks within the role
* Ability to work within a team and on own depending on project and size of task
* Ability to engage with external and internal customers in professional manner in person and by phone
* Flexibility to work away from home on customer sites in UK and abroad, typically up to a week at a time but may occasionally be for longer periods of up to a month
* Able to write formal reports (e.g. site survey or site visit reports) which can be used both internally and with customers
* Able to use departmental tools to carry out the tasks required, Excel, Word, Aerotrac, Allchange, Q-pulse help desk and understand and interpret Project schedules
* Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues including Apprentices and stakeholders
* Health and Safety legislation and related regulation and risk minimisation practices in house and at customer sites
* Ability to present a well-structured Training package to our customers
Educational Vocational Qualifications
* NVQ and HNC/HND
* 17th Edition standard or latest standard
* Pat Testing certificate
* Experience of running formal training courses
As a Senior ATC Operations Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting and managing the day to day commitments of the Operations Engineers and customer requirements along with any training needs.
* Install Software and Hardware upgrades
* Onsite repairs
* Build, test and install new build computers and associated equipment to latest drawing status
* Fault find and repair customer returned computer
* Complete and stamp all work in accordance with company procedures and allocated stamp.
* Test top level PCBs.
* Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests
* Prepare Manuals
* Writing method statements
* Risk assessments for site visits
* Installation Briefs
* Training Docs
* Customer Mapping
* Site visit arrangements
* Raise ECRs, Observations and drawing change requests
* Build and repairs cables and looms when required
