A highly innovative manufacturing business that is globally renowned as being a leader within the Aerospace industry, is now seeking out various staff to join it's team, including an Electrical Systems Engineer (Battery) on a 12 month contractual basis. Electrical Systems Engineer (Battery) overview –

As part of an integrated cross- functional team, you will contribute towards the development, integration and testing of the battery and high voltage distribution system.

Create specifications of battery modules and packs aligned with energy, power, safety, and technological requirements.
Create specifications of state-of-the-art power distribution, focusing on network/load switching and the protection of concepts up to 1k VDC.
Work on the modelling and simulation of network and components, bearing in mind electro thermal and transient behaviour.
Liaise with other teams to push Li-ion cell and battery performance and create innovative battery systems.
Liaise with battery management engineers and avionics engineers, with regards to design, interfaces and control.
Develop innovative testing procedures that ensure compliance of battery performance and safety requirements.To be successful within the role you will have the following –

Experience working within similar energy storage systems roles.
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, printed circuits, EMC, bonding, insulation etc.
Ideally Automotive and/or Aerospace sector experience.
